Short films & AI illustrations

The portrait tours combine the photographs credited above with original AI-generated illustrations, animated camera movement, written captions, synthetic English narration and original ancient-inspired instrumental music. The illustrations imagine scholarly life and present-day travellers; they do not establish what a historical individual or setting actually looked like.

  • Samarkand: Tuman Aka entrance by Faqscl (CC BY-SA 3.0), Shah-i-Zinda 03 by Bgag (CC0), plus an AI illustration of modern travellers.
  • Bukhara: Bahoutdin Architectural Complex 01 and 02 by Bgag (CC0), plus an AI illustration of an anonymous scholar.
  • Tashkent: Hazrati Imam Mosque 01 by Bgag (CC0), Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum rear view by Ymblanter (CC BY-SA 4.0), plus an AI illustration of an anonymous teacher and students.

All images in the films are cropped, animated with camera movement, and combined with caption overlays. The edited films are offered under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Attribute Ziyarat Uzbekistan and the relevant photographers, link to this credits page and the licence, and indicate any further changes.

Khiva: Khiva skyline and Pahlavan Mahmud mausoleum by Nassima Chahboun (CC BY-SA 4.0), with camera movement and captions.

Audio uses a generic Kokoro synthetic voice with conversational phrasing. A quieter original synthesized instrumental score sits beneath the narration and uses no sampled music. It is an artistic accompaniment, not a traditional Uzbek performance. Voice model information.

Historical and visitor-information sources appear with each tour and its full article.
